Projects

Capitol Clean Cities is Greater Hartford's Coalition, to support programs and projects that decrease our dependency on imported oil and Reduces air pollution. We work together with both public and private entities in the transportation sector. The following is a list of some of the projects we have been involved in:

  • The City of Hartford operates 25 Natural Gas Honda Civic Sedans
  • The Metropolitan Water District Commission Operates 12 Honda Civic Hybrids and Two Toyota Prius
  • One Public CNG station in Hartford (funded with help from CT Natural Gas)
  • Yellow Cab Taxi Service - 30 Natural Gas Honda Civics - 40 Natural gas Ford Crown Victoria's and 25 Honda Civic Hybrids (funded through DOE Clean Cities and CT-CMAQ-AFV program.)
  • Worked together with the other coalitions and the Department of Transportation to maintain the Connecticut Alternative Fuel vehicle program.
  • Glastonbury has a natural gas refueling station and operates four natural gas Honda Civics and a senior citizen shuttle bus.
