SUMMARY:2020 State DERA Program Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) for a webinar on October 8\, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Pre-registration is required! DEEP will be providing an overview of its upcoming 2020 State Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Program. \nUp to $767\,000 will be available for projects to reduce diesel emissions and protect public health in Connecticut. Solicitation for projects is expected to open later in October and will close approximately six weeks after the launch date. \nTopics covered during the webinar include \n\nprogram launch\napplication deadline\nDERA projects eligibility and funding levels and how they differ from VW eligibility and funding\nproject implementation timelines\nand more\n\nProjects that are Eligible for DERA Funding but are Not Eligible for VW funding: \n\nReplacement of EMY 2010 or newer vehicles with Zero-Emission or CARB Low-NOx vehicles;\nReplacement or repowering (engine replacement) of nonroad construction or agricultural equipment (including loaders and commercial mowers)\, transport refrigeration units (TRUs)\, stationary generators and pumps;\nEngine upgrades (rebuilds) of on-highway\, nonroad\, marine or locomotive engines;\nReplacement or repowering of commercial vessels (marine engine funding under the VW Program is limited to tugboats and ferries);\nReplacement or repowering of long haul locomotives;\nIdle reduction technologies\, including auxiliary power units on long haul trucks and school buses\, truck stop electrification\, idle reduction for locomotives\, and shorepower for TRUs; and\nEmission control technologies for diesel vehicles or equipment.\n\nPre-registration is required to access the webinar\, so all interested parties are encouraged to register. \nAdditional information regarding the DERA program\, may be found on EPA’s website at https://www.epa.gov/cleandiesel. \n
